Just like humans, for cats to live long happy lives good medical care is essential from kitten hood to the senior years. We recommend annual exams, and we customize the vaccine schedule for your cat, because not every cat needs every vaccine every year. Early detection of medical conditions can significantly improve our ability to treat them (and can be much less expensive to stabilize, too). While some of these are not curable, they can be controlled – allowing your cat to continue living a good quality of life. We routinely treat allergies, arthritis, kidney failure, diabetes, and several other conditions.
For established clients, we offer house calls for many services. Please call for special arrangements.

Here at the Cat Doctor, we have fully functional surgical capabilities. In addition to spays, neuters, and declaws, we also routinely perform lump removals, abdominal exploratories, and many other surgeries. We are also able to refer more complex procedures to board-certified surgeons.
Because cats don't brush their teeth twice daily and floss daily, dental disease is very common. Dental disease not only causes bad breath, but can lead to many other health problems – poor appetite and infections, just to start. To keep your cat's mouth healthy, we check her mouth during each physical exams and will recommend dental cleanings if needed.

No one likes to admit their 4-legged child has a behavioral issue, but that is the first step in allowing us to help. Behavior problems we commonly encounter are inappropriate urination and aggression. Often these indicate a medical problem – so let us know if there is something we need to discuss.
Choosing the right food for your cat can be challenging with all the varieties on the market and the often-conflicting opinions. We can help you find the right food for your furry friend that is also right for your budget, whether its a food for a specific medical condition or whether its for routine health maintenance.
We run simple tests like fecal samples and feline leukemia/feline immunodeficiency virus screens. We can also run in-house chemistries and complete blood cell counts. This allows us to run pre-op blood work the morning of a procedure, or run stat blood work on an emergency case. We also utilize an excellent out-sourcing laboratory with same or next day turn around time for most tests.
We offer limited boarding services for our clients. Please feel free to inquire before your next trip out of town.
While some prescriptions need to be filled at regular human pharmacies, we do keep many cat-specific medications in stock. We are able to offer choices for many medications – tablets, liquids, pastes, etc. We work closely with local compounding pharmacies like Custom Med Apothecary and Nora Apothecary for those kitties who will not tolerate traditional oral medications.
