Meet our Staff
We are all cat people!
Dr. Alice Johns - email me Dr. Johns graduated from Purdue University in 1986, and went directly into an exclusively feline practice. In 1991 she opened The Cat Doctor. In 1995, Dr. Johns became the first feline specialist in Indiana by being one of the first group of doctors to take and pass the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP) examination for board certification in Feline Practice. While others doctors may limit their practice to just cats, only those doctors who have passed the ABVP exam can call themselves specialists. This exam must be retaken every 10 years to maintain the certification. In November 2004, Dr. Johns passed her recertification exam. |

| Dr. Johns currently resides in Indianapolis with her husband Cole, their son John, and their five cats: Rajah, John Adams, Fiona Louise, Alex, and Tula. In her spare time, she is the secretary of the Hamilton County chapter of Altrusa International. She likes to read, quilt, and crochet catnip mice for the cats at The Cat Doctor. |
Dr. Myra Jones - email me Dr. Myra joined our team in May, 2003 after working at a general small animal clinic in Fort Wayne, IN for 5 years. She is also a Purdue University graduate. She plans to also become board certified in feline practice. In April 2002 she and her husband, Lewis, were married in a Scottish-style wedding. They have 3 cats (Grizzabella, Duncan, and Nimi). Their first "2-legged" child, Alexander, was born in September 2005. Her hobbies include sewing and Medieval re-enactment. In June 2008, Dr. Myra started teaching full time at The School of Veterinary Technology as Indiana Business College. She couldn't leave us completely, however! She is available on a part-time basis at the clinic and full-time via email.

I am also the proud parent of 3 beautiful cats named Shaka, Hobbs, and Bene. My outside interests are reading, cross stitching, and Nascar. |
Joyce Kunkel (Receptionist) - email me I have been blessed with this wonderful opportunity to become a part of The Cat Doctor family. I have always loved working with animals as well as people, so I feel that I have finally found my choice career. I have two beautiful daughters – Anastasia & baby Annalysa. Currently we do not have any 4 legged babies in our family, however The Cat Doctor crew has already promised me that will change in the near future. I do look forward to meeting each and everyone of you soon. |

Dave Kosednar (Registered Veterinary Technician) - email me After working as a chemist for more than 15 years, I decided to change careers. I have always been interested in the field of veterinary medicine. I started as a volunteer and then worked as a Veterinary Assistant at a small animal clinic in Indy before entering the Veterinary Technology program at Purdue. I did an externship in the summer of 2005 at The Cat Doctor prior to graduating in December 2005. My experience at The Cat Doctor was wonderful and I was fortunate to join the staff after graduation. |
